Which philosopher is known for his work 'The World as Will and Representation'?

Arthur Schopenhauer (1788-1860) published this work in 1819. In it he develops a metaphysics where the world is, on the one hand, representation (a phenomenon conditioned by our ways of knowing) and, on the other, will (blind and irrational force that constitutes the essence of everything), anticipating themes of existentialism and philosophical pessimism.
